Porsche PDK transmissions are built for fast shifts and hard use, but they still have temperature limits. If the transmission gets too hot during repeated acceleration, track driving, mountain roads, or other demanding use, the car may display a transmission temperature warning or reduce performance to protect itself. An occasional rise in temperature during very hard driving does not automatically mean the PDK is failing. Repeated overheating, however, deserves attention. Excess heat can come from clutch slip, fluid problems, restricted cooling, high drivetrain load, or a mechanical issue that is making the transmission work harder than it should.
